I have worked in the Welding and Fabrication field for the past 25 years. During this time, I have acquired vast knowledge and expertise in this area. For many years I have owned and operated a welding & fabricating business.

Course Information:

Introduction to Welding, Welding I and II provides the knowledge, skills, and technologies required for employment in metal technology systems. Students will develop knowledge and skills related to this system and apply them to personal career development. This course supports integration of academic and technical knowledge and skills. Students will reinforce, apply, and transfer knowledge and skills to a variety of settings and problems. Knowledge about career opportunities, requirements, and expectations and the development of workplace skills prepare students for future success. Welding II builds on the knowledge and skills developed in Welding I. Students will develop advanced welding concepts and skills as related to personal and career development. Students will integrate academic and technical knowledge and skills. Students will have opportunities to reinforce, apply, and transfer knowledge and skills to a variety of settings and problems.

Course Associated Fee:

FFA is a youth organization to help students develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. FFA develops students into strong, success driven adults. To be a member students are required to pay FFA dues. Being a part of the FFA allows student to have many scholarship opportunities, as well as many chances for student achievement. Another youth organization that allows you to show your project is 4-H.  It is a requirement to be part of an organization that allows you to show your project.  All projects will be judged at the Wilson County Ag Mechanics Show.  Projects can also be taken to San Antonio, San Angelo, etc.

I place a high priority on attendance because the attendance pattern established by the student in school often sets an attendance pattern for employment. To benefit from the primary purpose of the school experience, it is essential that each student maintain regular and punctual attendance. Class attendance is necessary for learning and academic achievement as well as for developing the habits of punctuality, dependability, and self-discipline demanded by business and industry. Regular attendance is essential to allow students to fully participate in class instruction, discussion and skill development.

 

Safety Rule Violations:

Will be dealt with immediately, including some or all of the following: Written safety essay - signed by parent, phone call to parent, detention, drop from class. If the student does not have the safety letter signed or does not have safety glasses, the student will be dropped from class.

 

Cell Phone Policy:

* CELL PHONES IN THE CLASSROOM ARE TO BE USED BY TEACHER INSTRUCTION ONLY.

* CELL PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE WELDING SHOP.

* THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR SEVERAL REASONS
