Coach Walker

Hello, I'm Travis Walker, originally from George West, Texas. I graduated from Texas State University and am currently entering my 10th year in the field of teaching and coaching. I've spent the past four years at Poth High School, where I have the pleasure of teaching two Personal Health Classes,  one Digital Arts class, HS Boys & Girls Athletics, JH Boys & Girls athletics and 6th grade Pre-Athletics. As well as creating social media graphics for Poth ISD. I also am active in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches as the 3A Regional Coordinator for the association. 

 

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I’m actively involved in coaching. I serve as the Assistant Cross Country Coach, the Junior High Softball Coach, and the Head Girls Basketball Coach. I am passionate about helping students excel both academically and athletically, and I love seeing their growth and achievements.

 

Outside of school, I cherish my time outdoors. Whether I’m hunting, working on our family ranch, or playing a round of golf, I find these activities to be incredibly fulfilling. I enjoy traveling & have been to Thailand, China, Japan, Guam, Ireland, Peru, and a few others! I’m also a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs and enjoy studying the game of basketball to continually improve my understanding of the sport.
